This American Heart Association class is designed to prepare students to provide First Aid, CPR and how to use the AED. 

Topics include medical and environmental emergencies: universal precautions, exposure to blood, using an epinephrine pen, choking, bleeding control, bandaging and splinting. 

Upon succesful completion of the course which includes First Aid and CPR Skills check you will receive a two year certification.

This course teaches employees how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood containing materials. This course is designed to meet OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard when paired with site-specific instruction.

ASHI Bloodborne Pathogens was designed specifically for workers with a reasonable chance of cooming in contat with bloodborne pathogens such as:

  • Childcare Workers
  • Securoty Guards
  • Maintenance workers
  • School personnel
  • Hotel housekeepers
  • Health & fitness Club personnel and
  • Tattoo artist

The ASHI Oxygen course focuses on administering emergency oxygen to breathing and non-breathing persons in need of assistance due a respiratory event.

Topics included are Safety precautions, assess,ent of respiratory emergencies, oxygen delivery systems and SPO2 use.

This is a two (2) hour clourse that includes the following Topics:

  • Types and use of  fire extinguishers
  • Recognition of  types and fire barriers
  • Using fire extinguisher safely and properly
  • Practical use of fire extinguishers in live simulation

 

HeartCode BLS is the AHA's blended learning method for the BLS Class. This class is a combination of elearning then followed by a hands-on skills session.

This course was designed for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR skills in facilities and in the pre-hospital setting.

The online portion of this course must be completed prior to the scheduled on-hands session. Students must print out and bring the completed on-line certificate of completion to the hands-on skills session.

This class is for anyone involved in childcare, daycare workers, teachers, camp counselors,etc.  who has a duty to respond to illness and injuries.  This instructor led class is aprox. 6 hours and the certification is good for two years.

This course is required for all personnel that work in a hospital setting in Los Angeles (including skilled nursing facilities, phsychiatric hospitals and clinics.

Class covers:

  • Hands on vertical and horizontal safely evacuation of patients, including: drags and carries;  evacuation chair and sled. This is important for high-rise evacuation procedures due to building height and inability of some patients to self evacuate. 
  • Patient rescue procedures
  • Hospital fire protection systems
  • Your role in the hospital emergency plan
  • How to control different types of fires
  • How to use a fire extinguisher
  • Live Fire training to familarize you with the risks and responsibilities associated with incipient-stage firefighting and you will discharge extinguisher on a fire
  • Four Year Certification period upon completion
